On Thursday, January 12th from 6-9pm MST Outside Online will be featuring in its entirety Solitaire, Sweetgrass Production’s award-winning backcountry ski film.  After the showing join an online chat with filmmaker Nick Waggoner and athletes Stephan Drake and Kim Havell.

• FILM SYNOPSIS

Nick Waggoner and Zac Ramras spent the better part of two years on foot, horseback, and ski-skins traveling between some of South America’s most desolate mountains. The end product of their effort, Solitaire, is among the most stunning ski films ever shot. The film features 31 different skiers and snowboarders, two of whom, Arne Backstrom and Kip Garre, passed away during production. Solitaire has been selected for the Banff and Telluride Mountainfilm festivals, and won the IF3 festival award for best cineomatography. 55 Minutes
