old friend fun

It was a fun weekend out of the box canyon.
Thursday, I headed up towards Loveland CO for a reunion with old friends from our Brown university crew team. En route, I had the chance to visit with friends Melissa McManus, Eric Hendrix and Pete Mcbride in Basalt.

Next week, life should get more [...]

strength in skiing

From my friend Dan Smith in VT,
”…if you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son”- Rudyard Kipling

Time to start training for ski season.
My recovery is going well, and by Monday, I have [...]

Salomon's Shogun

The Shogun will be a top big mountain contender this season.
I have not yet skied this ski, with my favorite Salomon sliders being the Czars and the Sandstorms, but am looking forward to getting on a pair of these puppies based on the rave reviews.
Per testers & skiers, the shogun supplies its rider with all mountain stability, a rocker, [...]
