Getting the Love in Magnolia

Today was one of those days that makes you forget about everything else in the world. With a variation of the many ski dream teams in this area, I headed out early this morning to meet up with Dr. Dan, Rolf F, and Andy Ward. These fellas are all first-class individuals and great skiers/mountaineers.

OR and More

Last week, I headed to SLC for a few days for the winter Outdoor Retailer show. For the Retailers & Industry sales folk, it is a very busy week. For others of us, it is a great time to touch base with companies with whom you work, meet new friends, network, socialize, and find new opportunities [...]

Have you ever purchased a single month of cable T.V. just to watch the Tour? Shaved your legs to avoid road-rash? Calculated out your ideal Q-factor? Weighed the benefits of titanium versus carbon fiber with the intensity of an aerospace engineer? Pushed yourself to the point that you fall over trying to [...]

Oblivion and The San Joaquin

The past two days have continued with a weather trend of bright blue bird skies and warm temps by midday.
Yesterday, Saturday, Con Severis, Dave Marsinowski and I decided to head over to the little Wasatch ridge couloirs and give the “Oblivion Bowl” to the “Granddaddy” a go. These routes have not yet been skied this year, and [...]

Photos with DB

Just a few shots from some recent shoots with local photog extraordinaire Doug Berry. We’ve been working together for a lot of years now and it is always really fun to go play in the snow together..sometimes also with my better Telluride Ski & Golf Co ski half, Kevin Holbrook.

Conditions were excellent and we had a pretty full day in the sunshine and sleek snow. The group included some all star athletes like Dan, Tony Jakob, [...]

Bear Creek Powder Days

Josh Geeter, Rick Willis and I headed out the backcountry gate for some powder skiing this morning. We did a careful lap, venturing into 9 inches of new snow on a route between the Nellie mine and “Eagle’s Nest” called “E Ticket”. See below for some shots:

New Year's New Day

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
This New Year’s Day today got kicked off for me with a solo ski tour in Waterfall Canyon. It was a beautiful morning, with warm blue skies and a marginal and slick skin track, which additionally proved to be quite challenging due to the previous night’s festivities.
The skiing varied from faceted recycled powder [...]
